Purpose: “To consider policy and strategy with respect to all Council’s functions, duties and responsibilities prior to a recommendation to Council for approval or adoption.”

REGULATORY COMMITTEE (Standing Committee of Council)
Purpose: “To conduct hearings and exercise Council’s statutory responsibilities for resource management, animal, building and health controls, and liquor licensing and any other matter of a regulatory nature.”

IWI CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE (Standing Committee of Council)
Purpose: “To facilitate communications between Council and Tangata Whenua. The Committee will consider any matter impacting on the interests of Tangata Whenua including but not limited to historical, cultural, recreational, health, housing, environmental and resource management. The Committee will advise Council and the various Iwi on Treaty of Waitangi implications for policies and activities of Council.”

PIRONGIA WARD CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE (Standing Committee of Council)
Purpose: “To allocate funds from the Pirongia Ward minor community works budget, to consider and approve applications for community grant funding and to consider the draft Annual Plan.”

MAUNGATAUTARI RESERVE COMMITTEE (Standing Committee of Council)
Purpose: Facilitating effective and meaningful communication between Council, Tangata Whenua, the Maungatautari Ecological Island Trust, the Department of Conservation and the public. Advising Council on all reserve management issues as they relate to Maungatautari Scenic Reserve, the Maungatautari Ecological Island project and the administrative requirements of Section 19 (Scenic Reserves) of the Reserves Act 1977. Overseeing the services of the Maungatautari Ecological Island Trust for day-to-day management of the enclosures. Overseeing the preparation of an updated reserve management plan for the Reserve.
