Community Board Discretionary Grant

The 2007 funding support round for non-profit community and welfare organisations is now open for applications.

Grants range on average between $200-$1500, and are to support the general objectives of groups that promote community wellbeing.

Waipa DC Community Leisure Officer, Andrea Duncan, would like to encourage organisations to apply for funding assistance, especially those who may not have considered this funding source before.

“The discretionary funds are just one way that Waipa District Council supports those groups in the community that work hard to support others.  Your organisation may be eligible for a grant to help with the operational expenses that can certainly add up for a non-profit group”

Application forms are available now from both Waipa District Council offices.  There are different application forms that need to be completed, depending on which Ward (district area) that your group resides or carries out its activities in.  The Wards are Te Awamutu/Kakepuku (including Kihikihi); Cambridge/Maungatautari (including Karapiro) and Pirongia (including Ohaupo).

Completed documents must be received by 5pm, 31 August 2007.  The Te Awamutu and Cambridge Community Boards and the Pirongia Consultative Committee will meet to allocate the funds in late September/early October.
