Waipa District Council is now calling for grant applications to the District Promotion Fund.
The purpose of the fund is to support events that will benefit the residents and ratepayers of the Waipa District, and Fund coordinator Phyllis Huitema would like to encourage applicants to ‘give it a go’.
“If you or your community organization are organizing an event that will increase the well-being of Waipa residents by promoting our District as a great place to live, work, invest or visit, then you may be eligible for some financial support”.
Sponsorship is for events based entirely in the Waipa District. Successful applications are likely to be for large scale, public events seeking national or international markets, or medium sized public events with a strong regional focus.
This funding round is open to events scheduled up to 30 June 2008. All applications must be received by Council no later than 5pm, 6 August 2007, and must meet a range of eligibility criteria.
