Maungatautari ward councillor Grahame Webber has been elected Deputy Mayor of Waipa District Council.
Mr Webber was elected today at the Council’s first formal Council meeting where all 12 Councillors, plus re-elected Mayor Alan Livingstone, were sworn in.
At the same meeting, new Cambridge ward Councillor Sue Milner and Mr Webber were appointed Council’s representatives on the Cambridge Community Board, to be chaired by John Bishop.
Councillors Laurie Hoverd and Hazel Barnes will represent Council on the Te Awamutu Community Board. The Board will be chaired by Dean Taylor.
Pirongia ward Councillor Diane Sharpe was re-elected chair of the regulatory committee. Other regulatory committee members appointed were Barbara Taranaki, Bruce Thomas, Sue Milner, Mayor Alan Livingston and a representative from Nga Iwi Toopu o Waipa, yet to be confirmed.
The next formal meeting of the full Council will be held on Tuesday, November 23 2010.
