Consultation for the 2009-19 10-year Plan begins today and the community getting involved in the process is hugely important says Project Manager Tracey Hancock.
“The draft Plan was approved for release by the Policy Committee last week and we have now started the formal consultation period. There are a number of major decisions to be made and submissions will provide valuable feedback to Council about how our communities feel about these issues”.
As well as general feedback on the Plan, there are six key proposals that Council is specifically seeking feedback on - Cambridge Community Pool, Cultural Centre (Te Awamutu), Public Transport, Seal Extensions, Maungatautari Ecological Island Project, and Waste Management.
Your submission can be as long or as short as you wish, and you also have the option of speaking about it at the hearings in May.
“We have a Q and A sheet on making a submission available on our website, but if you have any other queries, please call us, or email it to 10yearplan@waipadc.govt.nz. “says Ms Hancock.
Submissions on the draft Plan may be made up until 5pm on April 17.
