Construction has commenced on road works within the Karapiro Domain.
Schick Contractors have been engaged to continue development works previously consented at the Domain, which involve upgrading the entrance road through to the embankment road, and the rebuilding of the lower camping ground road through to Judd Lane.
This lower link road will give an alternative entrance to the site.
It is also intended that the current limestone chipped parking area that is part of the embankment road be sealed, and to install bollards along the embankment road to prevent some of the damage that is occurring from vehicles parking on grassed areas. A layby area will also be created near the campground site office for campground visitor access.
At the same time, upgrading of water services will take place in preparation for some of the proposed developments which will occur over the next twelve months.
Construction is expected to take approximately six weeks.
