Last chance for Heart of TA submissions

The close off date for preliminary submissions to the Heart of Te Awamutu project is rapidly approaching.

Monday February 25 at 9am is the deadline, and the steering group has already received some excellent submissions, but would like to encourage other Te Awamutu residents to put their thoughts, concerns and ideas onto paper and “have your say”.

Submissions received so far have covered a range of topics, including heavy traffic, parking, pedestrian islands, the Te Awamutu library and museum, seating, rubbish bins, facilities for children and teenagers, walking maps, signage and green spaces.

Information sheets and submission forms are available in hard copy at Council offices and libraries, or can be downloaded from Council’s website www.waipadc.govt.nz   Completed forms may be dropped off at either Council office, free posted to Cr Michael Cox, Heart of Te Awamutu steering group, Private Bag 2402, Te Awamutu 3840, or emailed to heartofteawamutu@waipadc.govt.nz .

The steering group comprising of Cr Michael Cox (chair), Cr Hazel Barnes, Cr Laurie Hoverd, Cr Graham Jull, Cr George Simmons and Community Board chair Dean Taylor will meet on Friday February 29 to consider all submissions and hear from any submitter who wishes to speak to their submission.
