Works to upgrade and enhance the Leamington Village are now about half way completed.
Engineering Group Manager John Kerr says the underlying works (for example sewer, stormwater, water supply and power undergrounding) are completed, and the pavement works are now in full swing.
“The project is running to plan, and now that the preparatory works are completed, residents will be able to see significant visible progress. Along with consultants and contractors, we are always looking for ways to reduce the disruption that occurs and have agreed to a revised construction technique that will speed up the works (saving around 2 weeks) while keeping within budget and ensuring a quality finish.“
Mr Kerr says the project is scheduled to be completed in August, and will greatly enhance the village environment, and would like to thank businesses and residents for their cooperation.
“We recognise the inconvenience to all residents and shop owners during the very intense construction phase. We would like to thank those involved for their efforts and thank the shop owners whose patience is very much appreciated."
