The open days may be over, but you still have until November 10 to offer your feedback on the Waipa 2050, 10-year Plan and Future Proof projects.
Council’s Group Manager Policy and Strategy, Ross McNeil is pleased with the level of public interest shown in these important long-term planning initiatives.
“We had 160 people attend our open days in Te Awamutu, Cambridge and Pirongia, with people taking particular interest in the plans and options for their community. Many have taken the opportunity to share their views by completing the feedback forms. This level of attendance is great, and with more than 10,500 hits on our Waipa 2050 website in the first week I’m confident residents understand the importance of these projects and will be sharing their views through the process to help shape the future of the District”.
Once submissions close, the information will be considered by Council and included in the process to develop our draft growth strategy.
If you haven’t yet completed a feedback form but would like to, hard copies are available at either Council office or library, or online at www.waipadc.govt.nz
Both the draft 10-year Plan and the draft District Growth Strategy will be available for public comment in March 2009. Further information on how to make a submission, the process until formal adoption of the documents and other key dates will be available early in the new year.
For further information on all the above projects, please go to Council’s website or www.waipa2050.co.nz or www.futureproof.org.nz
