If you would like to save money, have a healthier home and reduce your carbon emissions, then the Sustainable Living Programme is for you.
Classes will be starting in Te Awamutu in the next few months, however a free one hour ‘taster’ will run on Thursday April 30 at 1pm in the Council Committee Rooms, 101 Bank Street, and will include information on energy, travel, waste, shopping, gardening, organic food, water and eco-building.
Sustainable Living is an independent, community-based adult education and action programme that helps people make informed decisions about their choices affecting the environment. It was developed by local and regional councils in co-operation with a group of community educators, and start-up support from the Ministry for the Environment’s Sustainable Management Fund.
For further information on the Sustainable Living Courses contact Jenny Wilson on 07 827 8809.
