Recently the Waipa Community Arts Council met to allocate its second round of Creative Communities Scheme grants for 2009. Nine applications totalling $10,393 were received and grants totalling $6,852 from available funds were awarded to:
David Swanson (Kihikihi Residents & Ratepayers Assoc) $200,
Kihikihi School $1,500,
Pekerau School $1,350,
Te Awamutu Alive $1,585,
Te Awamutu Creative Fibre group $1,120,
Te Awamutu Embroidery Group $100,
Te Awamutu Gracelands Trust $417,
Te Awamutu Light Operatic Society $580.
The next round of Creative Communities Scheme grants is in April 2010.
