Lake Karapiro Domain covers an area of 20 hectares and provides for a variety of sporting and recreational activities, including rowing, waka ama, water skiing, kayaking, canoeing, sailing and triathlons. It is also home to several sports clubs and is a popular venue for school groups, corporate activities and the wider community.
Council have programmed works totalling nearly $15 million over the next five years, including the construction of a new purpose-built community centre, new toilet blocks, infrastructure, accommodation, roading and public facilities.
