Cracker opening day for library

​Nearly 2,500 people poured through the doors of Te Awamutu’s new library on opening day.

The library was officially opened on Friday by Waipa mayor Jim Mylchreest following an on-site ceremony.

Between the doors opening around 11am and closing at 8pm 2439 people visited the new $4.4 million facility.  In between answering queries and assisting with new memberships,  library staff issued 2351 items. 

Regular library opening hours are from 9am – 5pm on Mondays and Thursdays, from 9.30am – 5pm on Tuesday, from 9am-8pm on Wednesdays and Fridays and on Saturdays from 9.30am – 1pm.
