Welcome to our survey asking for your feedback on how you use Sainsbury Reserve and the surrounding recreational areas. Go straight to survey.
Last year, we asked the community for ideas on the use of Sainsbury reserve and for feedback on three landscape plans.
This feedback is helping us to prepare a draft Reserve Management Plan for the Reserve which will be taken to Council for approval – we aim to do this by September 2016.
The reserve was opened for public use from January 2016. Since then a large volume of people have travelled from across the district and beyond to use the reserve. Most of these users have been horse riders. Council has been overwhelmed with positive comments from the horse riders, about the value of the Reserve and its accessibility.
Due to horse riding being the main activity on the reserve, we are keen to hear from horse riders about their feedback on Sainsbury Reserve as well as the surrounding areas of Te Tahi Forest and Sainsbury Forest track. If you’re not a horse rider but have feedback to share then that’s fine too!
Council staff will use this information to help identify and plan key projects required for the Sainsbury Reserve area. This information will also feed back into the wider Reserve Management Plan review we are doing.
