Victoria Street, Cambridge watermain upgrade
27-19-03 DISTRICT-WIDE RENEWALS – WATER SUPPLY UPGRADE
We’re undertaking an essential waters infrastructure upgrade on the Victoria Street watermain pipeline. This is part of Waipā District Council’s commitment to invest in our Three-Waters infrastructure and will help to safeguard our district’s water supply for future generations.
Between mid-March and end of April, we’re replacing the existing watermain pipeline with a new fit-for-purpose pipe that will help future-proof our water supply as our town grows. Local contractor Camex will be carrying out this work on our behalf. We’re taking extra care with our significant heritage trees in the area, following specialist advice from experienced arborists to help ensure their health as work takes place.
The pathway may be narrowed to 1.5m in some places while work takes place but this will be temporary.

Events held at Victoria Square will continue as normal, please follow the directions.
Thanks for your patience while we carry out this critical upgrade.
