Fire hydrant testing in Te Awamutu
Water Works
We’re carrying out our annual fire hydrant tests next week, starting Monday, September 22, working between 8.30am and 5pm each day. Your water supply won’t be affected, but you may notice some discolouration.
We expect to be finished by the end of the week, weather depending.
Testing hydrants is important to make sure there’s enough water pressure available if our firefighters need it in an emergency. You may notice a bit of extra water in the drains while the testing is underway — this is nothing to worry about.
To make sure we can carry out the work safely, there will be some traffic management in place, so please follow the directions from the team onsite.
