Pirongia Community - please conserve water - essential use only

A reminder to our Pirongia community – Please conserve water. Please restrict water use to drinking water and sanitary use only.

The Te Tahi Water Treatment Plant has sustained significant damage due to the recent weather events and is currently offline.

We have redirected water supply to Pirongia but this comes with a reduced flow.

This is manageable as long as we work together to conserve water.

• Please restrict water use to hygiene and drinking water only.
• If its yellow let it mellow, if its brown flush it down, short showers, that kind of thing.
• No unnecessary water use.

Now we all have a collective decision to make, if we can conserve water and just use it for the essentials, we’ll be able to continue to have water out of the tap, if we abuse it then we’ll be looking at tankers and filling your own containers.

Nobody wants that as it comes with a whole bunch of other issues.
