Water restrictions lifted

29 April 2013
Water restrictions have been lifted across the Waipa District.

Water Services Manager Lorraine Kendrick said the good amount of rainfall received over the last week had alleviated concerns about the levels of the district’s water sources, and all restrictions could be lifted from today.

This summer was one of the driest the district had faced for some years and it was the first time a total sprinkler ban had been introduced.

“Waipa residents responded extremely well to the water restrictions that were in place and we thank people for their understanding and co-operation,” Mrs Kendrick said.
