It is renowned as New Zealand's premier venue for international horse trials , also providing a cross-country course and purpose-built arenas for dressage and show-jumping. As well as equestrian activities, Kihikihi Domain is also home to the speedway race track, and its fields are busy most weekends with team sports.

Organisations at Kihikihi Domain

Te Awamutu Pony Club
Te Awamutu Pony Club operates three branches: Wharepapa South, Kihikihi and Pirongia. We run events during the year, a Spring and Autumn One Day Event, plus coaching and rallies for our riders. We welcome new riders into the area.

Riding for the Disabled

kihikihi-domain-te-awamutu-riding-for-disabled.jpgWe operate from the Rodeo arena at Kihikihi Domain every Tuesday from 9am (excluding school holidays). Our group is affiliated to the national organisation since 1999.

Riding develops and improves balance, co-ordination, posture and muscle tone. It can help with concentration, self discipline, communication, social skills and decision making.

Our aim is to help disabled people build confidence, self esteem and increase their independence and well being through therapeutic riding and horse care. Our riders range from school-age children to young and older adults. All kinds of disability are catered for.

Waikato Rodeo

kihikihi-domain-waikato-rodeo.jpgEvery February we invite cowboys and cowgirls from all over New Zealand and the best contracted stock that we can muster, to combine at the Kihikhi Domain Arena and provide an action packed show  for spectators to witness.

We are a nonprofit organisation that runs solely off the generous sponsorship from the community, which in return receives all our profits through our donations to the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter and the Waipa King Country Life Educational Trust.
