We have a 24-hour, district-wide service for all dog and stock control calls.
All building work requires approval by Council through a building consent.
Our animal control responsibilities include owner education, the registration and impounding of dogs as well as implementing and enforcing the Dog Control Act 1996 in addition to the Waipa Dog Control Bylaw. The Animal Control team also deal with wandering and trespassing stock.
One of the main roles of the Animal Control team is to minimise danger, distress and nuisance to the public, as well as to educate animal owners about their responsibilities.
We own and operate dog and stock pounds in Cambridge and Te Awamutu. These facilities are managed in accordance with our Asset Management Plans.
