Community Event Fund
The Community Event Fund supports grass-roots events which create opportunities to build and celebrate community pride and for our communities to connect and celebrate our diversity. Events contribute to Waipā being a great place to live and maximise our facilities and public spaces. The fund supports not-for-profit community organisations hosting inclusive, low-cost events in our community.
The Community Event Fund has $30,000.00 available.
Applications for the 2022/23 round are now open.
Applications close 5pm, Friday 20 May 2022.
How to apply
Complete and submit the printable Community Events Fund application form.
Completing your application
Ensure that your application includes (where applicable):
- completed application form, including:
- information on the organisation seeking funding, its primary business purpose, experience and areas of expertise
- information on the primary event manager
- description of the event, including objectives and expected economic outcomes
- risk assessment for any proposed event, including Covid-19 Pandemic planning
- a detailed budget, including a breakdown of whether costs are confirmed or estimates
Applications for funding close 5pm, Friday 20 May 2022. Applications received after the closing date will not be considered.
Electronic applications are preferred, but hard copies will also be accepted.

If your event is being held on council land, such as Victoria Square, Selwyn Park or public roads or reserves, you’ll need to complete a Waipā event application form, this must be submitted at least three months prior to your event date.

Please note, if you are a previously successful applicant to the District Promotion or Community Event Fund committee you will need to have completed a post event report for that event to be eligible for this new funding round.
