District Promotion Fund closed

The District Promotion Fund has $75,000 available to support events that bring visitors to Waipā, boost our local economy, and celebrate everything that makes our district the Home of Champions.

The District Promotion Fund is a contestable fund, meaning funding will be allocated to events that best meet the eligibility and criteria is allocated by the District Promotions Fund Sub-Committee.

Next steps

The funding closed on Friday, August 21. The District Promotions Fund Sub-Committee will meet the week of Monday, September 14, to review the event applications. We will then notify all applicants by the end of Friday, September 18.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for funding:

A significant part of your event must take place in the Waipā District.
Your event must be held before Wednesday, June 30, 2027.
Your application must be completed in full and include all required supporting information.
If you've previously received District Promotion Fund support, you must have submitted your post-event report before applying again.

How applications are assessed

We'll consider whether your event:

Attracts visitors to Waipā and delivers economic benefits.

Please note that incomplete applications, or events already receiving funding through another Waipā District Council fund, will not be considered.

Key dates

Applications close: 5pm, Friday, August 21.
Committee meets: 1pm, Monday, September 14.
Applicants notified by: Friday, September 18.
