You need to apply for a fire permit using the Fire and Emergency New Zealand's online National Fire Permit System accessed from www.checkitsalright.nz. You can also find our more information at www.fireandemergency.nz.
The system is easy to use and will provide you with more visibility and control over your applications and permits. It replaces the previous fire permit application process you used of emailing or calling your local Fire and Emergency NZ office.
You must not light your fire until you have received your fire permit from Fire and Emergency New Zealand.
