Change your address or details with us
To help us make sure we have the right details for your rates, dog registration, water bill and more please use our online form to update your details.
Property Rates
Your property rates help us to fund the services council provides. Property Rates notices are sent quarterly, in August, November, February and May. Use our rates calculator to see the valuation information we hold on Waipā properties.
We have a number of payment options available for you to pay your rates, including over four instalments, six-monthly or by setting up a direct debit. Payments can be made by visiting waipadc.govt.nz/payit where you can pay via Account2Account, credit card or debit card. This allows you to pay all your accounts in one easy transaction.
If you would like to set up a direct debit payment option, visit waipadc.govt.nz/direct-debit, email rates@waipadc.govt.nz or contact the revenue department on 0800 924 723. You can also let us know if you would like to receive your rates invoice by email or by post. Alternatively, you can visit one of the council offices in Cambridge or Te Awamutu.
For information on your property rates, please visit waipadc.govt.nz/rates
Water Rates
If your property is connected to council water supply, you will also be invoiced quarterly for your Water Rates. You have the option to set these payments up on direct debit as well.
Water rates are charged based on how much water you use. Your water meter is usually located in a blue box marked “water”, which may need to be checked from time to time.
For information on water rates, please visit waipadc.govt.nz/waterrates
Maps online
Our online mapping tool provides information about your property, services and the district. Whether you’re looking for your water meter, want to find services and consent information, trying to find a park near you or want the big picture in our Waipā District Plan, try maps online first.
Recycling and rubbish
In Waipā, we provide kerbside recycling services to urban and rural areas for plastics, cardboard, tin and glass recycling. Please make sure your yellow and blue bins are on the kerb by 7am on collection day. Visit waipadc.govt.nz/recycling to check what you can recycle and find your collection dates.
We currently don’t offer a rubbish collection service. Rubbish collection can be organised with several private companies. Find a provider at waipadc.govt.nz/rubbish
