Events on roads - Winter Series Cycling Event

Te Awamutu Cycling Club is hosting the Winter Series cycling event across the district from May to August 2024. You can find the details for each cycling course below, including racing dates and traffic management.

Puahue Road Race

Dates: 9 June, 30 June and 28 July.

Course: Traffic management will be in place from 9am to 2pm on the following roads.

  • Puahue School on Puahue Road
  • Puahue Road towards Parkland Road
  • Parkland Road
  • Chamberlain Road
  • Long Road
  • Puahue Road

Ngāhinapōuri Race

Dates: 19 May, 16 June and 14 July.

Course: Traffic management will be in place from 9am to 2pm on sections of the following roads.

  • Ngāhinapōuri Road, from Gillard Road to McGregor Road
  • McGregor Road, from Ngāhinapōuri Road to Rukuhia Road
  • Rukuhia Road, from McGregor Road to Gillard Road
  • Gillard Road, From Rukuhia Road to Ngāhinapōuri Road

Winter tour individual time trial (ITT)

Date: 4 August.

Course: Traffic management will be in place from 8:30am to 7pm on some sections of the following roads:

  • Fencourt Road
  • Aspin Road
  • Flume Road

Goodwin Cycle Race

Dates: 26 May, 23 June and 21 July.

Course: Traffic management will be in place from 9am to 2pm on some sections of the following roads.

Course one

  • Fencourt Road
  • Flume Road
  • Aspin Road

Course two

  • Fencourt Road
  • Maungakawa Road
  • Te Miro Road
  • Flume Road

The roads will be busy, so please play it safe and listen to the crews managing the traffic flow.
