Watermain renewals
Starting Tuesday, June 3, between 6am and 7.30pm, the left-hand lane of Racecourse Road, between Taylor Avenue and the racecourse, will be closed to complete essential watermain renewal work.
We expect this work to take about nine weeks, with a completion date of Friday, August 1,weather depending.
The work will include:
- Service location holes – starting Tuesday, June 3
- Open trench pipe installation – excavating works - starting Monday, June 9
- Chip seal reinstatement
Access to this section of Racecourse Road will be via SH3 Ōhaupō Road or Taylor Avenue. Traffic heading to Racecourse Road from Mangapiko Street or Factory Road will need to use an alternate route. Please see the map overleaf.
Residents and their visitors, and emergency services, will have full access. There may be times when we will need to close your driveway. Please ask the staff onsite if you need assistance.
Kerbside recycling collections will take place as scheduled.
