LINZ spraying at Lake Karāpiro

If you spot a helicopter doing laps or boats on a mission tomorrow at Lake Karāpiro, don’t worry - it’s all part of a plan to keep the lake beautiful.
Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand will be out spraying to tackle the invasive lake weed hornwort. Spraying will be carried out near boat ramps, ski lanes, and popular swimming spots.
A 24-hour stand-down period is recommended on swimming, fishing and taking water for irrigation or domestic supply once the spraying is complete.
