Mike Pettit confirmed as Mayor as final election results declared

Waipā District Council’s final election results are in and have confirmed the standings at the preliminary counting stage.

New Mayor Mike Pettit has been declared elected with 7216 votes, followed by Susan O’Regan at 5968 and Clare St Pierre on 3838 votes.

The final standings for your Council and Community Board are:

Pirongia and Kakepuku Ward (2)

Clare St Pierre (1932), Les Bennett (1582).

Te Awamutu and Kihikihi Ward (3)

Shane Walsh (2276), Dean Taylor (2182), Marcus Gower (1659).

Maungatautari Ward (1)

Mike Montgomerie (elected unopposed).

Waipā Māori Ward (1)

Dale-Maree Morgan (523).

Cambridge Community Board

Cambridge Subdivision: Charlotte FitzPatrick (3104), Gerda Venter (2762), Chris Minneé (2228), Stewart Dromgool (2215).

Maungatautari Subdivision: Andrew Myers (1030).

Te Awamutu and Kihikihi Community Board

Te Awamutu and Kihikihi Subdivision: Ange Holt (3042), Liam Bullen (2890), Jill Taylor (2431), John Wood (2253).

Kakepuku Subdivision: Kane Titchener (elected unopposed).

The Waipā Māori Ward will be removed at the 2028 election with 9290 people voting to remove it, over 6950 voters who wanted it to remain.
