The Government has decided to pause the Head Start proposals for local government amalgamation. This means plans to combine councils in our region are on hold for now.
Over the past few months, councils have spent significant time and money preparing proposals under tight deadlines, at a cost to local communities. We’re now waiting to see what happens after the November elections. We hope any future process will be more collaborative and involve those who live here.
