Cambridge boardwalk work scheduled
14 January 2016
Construction is set to begin later this month on renewing the existing boardwalk connecting Rowling Place, Shelley Street and Noel Street in Cambridge.
The 250 metre boardwalk provides access over the Shelley St wetland and makes up part of the Leamington section of the Cambridge town belt walk and cycleway. When finished, the walkway/cycleway will link the whole of Cambridge.
The piled boardwalk will be built by Kingan Landscaping Ltd and the existing bridge will be replaced and steps removed. This will make the bridge level with the rest of the boardwalk and improve accessibility, including for people with pushchairs.
Weather permitting, the work should be complete by early March.
