Colour in to win a brand new bike
12 February 2018
To celebrate the opening of the Pop n' Good Bike Park and the refurbished playground at Pioneer Park, Waipa District Council is giving kids the chance to win a brand new children's BMX bike.
A colouring in competition will be running from Monday 12 to Friday 23 February 2018. Each child's entry will go in the draw to win a Haro Freestyle BMX bike from local business Mountain to Road Cycles.
Waipa Mayor Jim Mylchreest is thrilled to be able to provide a local child with the opportunity to have a brand new bike.
I am really looking forward to seeing young people in Waipa get out and enjoy our new playground and Pop n' Good Bike Park. If we can help one more youngster get there with a new bike, that's a fantastic gift to give.
Mountain to Road Cycles owner Callum Fawcett said any park that encourages children to get outside and be active has his support.
The Pop n' Good Bike Park is a great asset to Te Awamutu, the bike skills track will help kids gain more confidence and improve their skills on a bike. It's a great stepping stone before moving up to ride with the older kids at the BMX track and skate park at the other end of town.
Mountain to Road Cycles will be at the opening offering free bike and helmet safety checks as well as tips and advice on how to keep kids bikes running to a safe mechanical standard.
Colouring in competition entry forms can be collected from Council offices, libraries and Mountain to Road Cycles or downloaded from waipadc.govt.nz/TA-playground.
Completed entries will need to be dropped off to the What's the Story?' stand at the Pop n' Good Bike Park opening event on Friday 23 February. The winner will be drawn at random at 6:30pm that evening.
