Free cycle workshops for adults
23 January 2015
Whether you want to save petrol , get fit or just enjoy cycling, now is the time to get out your bike.
Following on from last year's successful back on your bike' workshops, Sport Waikato, Cycling New Zealand and Waipa District Council are once again offering free cycle workshops in Te Awamutu and Cambridge. The free evening workshops are hands on and will be held over two nights at each location next month.
Road Safety Co-ordinator Megan Jolly says the workshops target those wanting to ride their bikes with more confidence. They are ideally suited to beginners or those who have not ridden for some time.
They will cover bike maintenance with an emphasis on taking wheels off and changing a tyre, and general bike skills including riding in traffic safely.
The workshops will also provide links to cycling groups, upcoming cycling events and further advanced cycle skills training. Workshops will be facilitated by Cycling New Zealand.
If you don't have a bike but are keen to learn then come along and one will be provided for you for the night.
