Funding for ANZAC, Armistice projects
7 March 2016
Six groups have secured funding to help the Waipa community commemorate ANZAC and Armistice.
Waipa District Council set aside $10,000 to support community projects occurring between March and December this year.
Projects could range from an event or performance to an artwork, exhibition or education programme. Applications could only come from not-for-profit groups or organisations with the project happening within the Waipa district.
Six of the seven groups that applied were successful in winning some funding. Grants were allocated to Armistice in Cambridge Incorporated Society ($4,700); the Cambridge Community Board ANZAC & Armistice Remembrance Organising Committee ($3,000); Te Awamutu & District Memorial RSA ($500); Pirongia Voluntary Rural Fire Force ($500); Cambridge Patchworkers & Craft ($450); and Cambridge Brass Band ($850).
