Further information required on pound improvements
13 December 2016
The project to improve the Waipa District Council dog pound in Kihikihi has been put on hold while Council staff further investigate any potential impacts of the project on neighbouring residents.
At this morning's Finance and Corporate Committee meeting, Council heard from a group of Kihikihi residents who had concerns about the level of impact the improved dog pound could have on neighbouring properties.
Investigation into any impacts have been considered as part of the project scope however staff will do further investigation, including more detailed reporting on acoustic requirements.
The pound, which has been in its current location for over 35 years, is set to be upgraded early next year to improve the safety and security of the facility.
This further information will come back to the Finance and Corporate Committee in February next year.
