Library staff to tackle big job
2 March 2016
The Te Awamutu and Cambridge libraries will be closed for stocktake next week from Tuesday 8 March until Thursday 10 March.
More than 140,000 books, DVDs, talking books and puzzles will be manually scanned by the library team during the stocktake.
District librarian Alison Gordon says the stocktake allows library staff to keep an accurate record of all items.
It is a big operation which only occurs every few years but is essential to keeping our inventory up-to-date.
The after-hours slot at the front of each library is still available for people to return items through. Also, the libraries' wide range of e-books and online databases will still be available at www.waipalibraries.org.nz
Both the Te Awamutu and Cambridge libraries will be open as normal on Friday 11 March.
Thanks for your support and patience during this time.
