Local groups seek help - Cambridge
10 September 2015Forty-nine local groups have applied for discretionary funding from the Cambridge Community Board.
The Board can allocate $24,000 this round to not-for-profit groups that provide a local service to benefit the wider Waipa community. Higher priority will be given to funding community projects rather than operating costs.
Applications in Cambridge total more than $78,000 - more than three times what is available. Financial assistance usually ranges between $200 - $2000 but applications for larger amounts are considered.
Applications have been received to support a range of projects including a Scottish dancing weekend, gardens for local playcentres and a men's health seminar.
A further 56 groups have applied for help from the Te Awamutu Community Board and Pirongia Ward Committee.
The Cambridge Community Board will meet to discuss the grant allocations next Wednesday (September 16).
