Monsta Community Day back for Waitangi 2015
22 January 2015Back by popular demand, Waipa's Monsta Community Day is on again this Waitangi Day, Friday 6 February.
Thousands of people are expected to flock to Mighty River Domain to enjoy the fun day out and what's best - it's free!
Waipa District Council Mayor, Jim Mylchreest said Waitangi Day in Waipa looked set to be a huge family occasion with loads of fun for all ages.
We have a fantastic variety of games, activities and entertainment lined up for the whole family - including lawn mower racing, jump jam, Shetland ponies, The Cambridge News Community Expo, a rib eating challenge and a classic car display.
There will be plenty of sports and games too, such as BMXing, beach football, and a golf driving range; there will definitely be something for everyone!
The fun won't stop on the Friday. With Waipa being the Home of Champions', the district will be a hive of activity throughout the entire weekend.
The North Island Rowing Champs runs right through the weekend at the Mighty River Domain and the New Zealand International Polo Day is coming to Kihikihi on Saturday 7 February. It's definitely a good weekend to stick around and make the most of what Waipa has to offer!
This year marks 175 years since the Treaty of Waitangi signing. To commemorate the 175 year anniversary, Waipa District Council was granted $5,000 from the Ministry for Culture and Heritage to go towards this event.
The Monsta Community Day runs from 10am to 4pm and admission is free. Plenty of on-site parking at the Mighty River Domain will be available.
