Cambridge's Historical Society has been granted $158,580 to run the Cambridge museum.
The annual grant was approved at a Waipa District Council committee meeting today.
The grant replaces the existing operational budget for the Cambridge museum. It follows a Council decision last month to transfer responsibility for running the museum to the Society. The change was effective from the beginning of this month.
Historical Society president Tony Gainsford confirmed the Society was happy with the agreement.
Te Awamutu's museum continues to be run by Waipa District Council.
