Pooch Photobooth
A photobooth will be set up at dog exercise areas for dog owners who are keen to pose with their pooch. The photobooth will be part of Waipa District Council's meet and greet sessions focused on getting feedback from the public on the dog control policy and bylaw review.
Waipa District Council's animal control staff will be at four different dog exercise areas so dog owners will have the opportunity to have their say on the dog control rules in the Waipa district. Dog owners can also come down to have their photo taken with their dog at the pooch photobooth.
Council's Planning and Regulator Manager, Wayne Allen says it's important for the community to have many opportunities to speak to us.
"The dog control rules that are set for Waipa affect all of those in the community. The pooch photobooth is a fun way for dog owners to interact with us, and gives them the opportunity to express their views."
Council has reviewed the dog control policy and bylaw and have proposed minimal changes to the draft versions which are now out for public consultation.
"For example if people think we need more dog exercise areas or if we haven't got the right locations for dogs to exercise, we want to hear from them. Once we have heard the views of the community, Council will make the final decision on the rules for dogs in our district. It's important we get the balance right for the benefit and safety of the entire community."
