All water restrictions in the Waipā district have been lifted as from today.
Since early December, Te Awamutu and Pirongia have been on water alert level one, meaning sprinkler use was restricted.
Cambridge and other parts of the Waipā district have not faced any water restrictions at all this summer.
Waipa District Council has confirmed that levels in the Mangauiki Stream, which supplies the Te Awamutu and Pirongia townships are only slightly lower than normal. Weekly consumption levels are now lower than prior to restrictions being implemented.
