Skate park upgrade underway
7 September 2015
Cambridge skateboarders look set for a smoother ride with work underway on improvements to the local skate park.
Work began last week at the Dominion Ave facility, overseen by a well-known boarder Jason Beaudry from J-Stone Skate Parks. Beaudry's company recently completed a refurbishment at Te Awamutu's skate park that has had fantastic feedback from locals.
The work involves grinding down and refurbishing high use areas as well as repairing cracks to the concrete surface.
While some new features were added to the Cambridge skate park a few years ago, this is the first time maintenance work has been done to improve the surface for some time.
The project will cost just under $10,000 and will be completed by the end of September.
