2025/26 funding round closed

The funding round closed on Friday, April 10, 2026. The community boards and Pirongia Ward Committee will review and consider the applications that we have received.

Next steps:

• The Pirongia Ward Committee will review the applications during their meeting on Thursday, April 30.
• Cambridge Community Board will review the applications on Tuesday, May 12.
• Te Awamutu and Kihikihi Board will review the applications on Tuesday, May 5.

Eligibility for 2025/26 funding round

Cambridge Community Board funding criteria

• Applications are only open to not-for-profit groups, clubs or organisations who provide a local community or welfare service for the benefit of the wider Waipā community,
• Funding groups, clubs or organisations must have a base in Cambridge or Maungatautari
• Applications will not be considered for expenses or events that have already happened before the Cambridge Community Board meeting considers applications,
• If grants are not spent within twelve months, this funding must be returned,
• Not completing an accountability form after your event may jeopardise future funding.

Te Awamutu and Kihikihi Community Board funding criteria

• Applications are only open to not-for-profit groups, clubs or organisations who provide a local community or welfare service for the benefit of the wider Waipā,
• Funding groups, clubs or organisations must have a base in Te Awamutu, Kihikihi or Kakepuku,
• The maximum level of funding that can be applied for is $5000 plus GST,
• Capital or operational projects/expenses will be considered,
• Applications will not be considered for expenses or events that have already happened before the Te Awamutu and Kihikihi Community Board meeting considers applications,
• If grants are not spent within twelve months, this funding must be returned,
• Not completing an accountability form after your event may jeopardise future funding.

Pirongia Ward Committee funding criteria

• Applications are only open to not-for-profit groups, clubs or organisations who provide a local community or welfare service for the benefit of the wider Waipā community,
• Funding groups, clubs or organisations must be based in the area covered by the Pirongia Ward Committee or currently deliver services there,
• The maximum level of funding that can be applied for is $4000 plus GST,
• Applications will not be considered for expenses or events that have already happened before the Pirongia Ward Committee meeting to consider applications,
• If grants are not spent within twelve months, this funding must be returned,
• Not completing an accountability form after your event may jeopardise future funding.
