Lake Rotopiko
The Lake Rotopiko reserve is open.
We are starting work this week to improve the entrance into the Lake Rotopiko/Serpentine Reserve off State Highway 3. The reserve will still be accessible during the works, but will be disrupted while under Temporary Traffic Management. These works are due to be completed by the end of next week, weather permitting.
Please note the reserve may be shut on Monday mornings from 9am – 11.30am for animal pest control.
Kareaotahi/Lake Cameron
Kareotahi/Lake Cameron track is closed in some areas for maintenance.
In windy weather, we recommend not visiting Kareotahi/Lake Cameron reserve in Rukuhia due to the higher risk of trees and/or branches falling. The reserve still has trees scheduled for removal from the February storm and a section of the track has been roped off to keep everyone safe. Thank you for your understanding.
